I have to disagree with one thing from the description: you can use this more aggressive rocker bottom ALL DAY. In fact, I prefer it to the standard rocker bottom. I get more of a workout, and it really forces stiff muscles to STRETCH. I love it!! I'm glad the original board had a shallower rocker, I'm sure the greater pitch would be off-putting to many. But I'm gonna keep the challenge cap on permanently. Great addition!
I upgraded my board to the Cloud Level just so I could get the Challenge Cap, and I can confidently say it was totally worth it! I love the greater challenge, deeper tilts, and wider movements that can be made with the Challenge Cap. I am still able to type and do tasks at my standing desk while using this product, which is a big plus for me. If you're looking to take your board to the next level, this is definitely the upgrade you need!
The cap is otherwise excellent. I work out fairly regularly, but I loathe core exercising so this helped immensely. After about a month though the challenge cap no longer provides any challenge sadly. Thinking about seeing if I could 3D print me up a "super challenge cap" or something; would also be willing to pay for one...
The challenge cap is very simple but is performs its function perfectly. Makes the board more fluid and difficult to balance, which results in more core engagement while standing. Fluidstance as a company has been fantastic as is this product.
It doesn't look like much, but adding the challenge cap changes the tilt degree of the balance board in such a wat that you really expand the amount of movement and bump the fun level! My only reservation is the list price of $50. It's a piece of plastic and really should not retail for that price, in my opinion. Other than that, it's a great accessory to add to your board.
I really enjoy working from home... but focusing is sometimes difficult. The ability to fidget actually keeps me more productive! I can't say enough good things about FluidStance.
I switched from the Cloud to the Level since the latter supported this Challenge Cap and am very glad I did. For normal usage I'll stick with the unadulterated Level but like the flexibility of having a way to make it slightly more difficult if needed. Currently, the Level provides a perfect amount of challenge if I'm actively working at my desk. It's not hard to balance and it doesn't require active attention. The challenge cap is definitely more difficult but it'll be nice to swap in for calls/demos that don't require hands on keyboard. For reference, I'm using mine on a carpeted floor. I would imagine using it on a hard surface would increase the difficulty even further.
I had to return the challenge cap because I bought the Original deck, as which it does not fit. I really love my deck but I really wish FluidStance had a challenge cap for the original deck.
Standing on my board that i bought years ago has helped my overall back health but when I saw the challenge cap being offered, I ordered one. It’s kind of pricy but it has helped strengthen my core and helps me remember to take work breaks since it does tire me out a little while I’m standing on my board
I've been using balance boards for years (and the Level specifically for about two years) so I consider myself a pro at them. I hardly even have to give it conscious effort anymore. So I decided to try out the challenge cap to go along with my new home office setup. Not going to lie I was a little dismayed when I first looked at it because it doesn't look like it would do anything, but trust and believe that this thing is not to be trifled with! It makes balancing much harder and you can really feel it in your core and legs. Takes balancing to a whole new level! I love it but be prepared to be shocked at the change and definitely follow the instructions to not use for long stretches of time! I've been using it in 20 minute spurts a couple times a day. It's also well constructed which is critical because removing it requires pulling on a tab so if it was flimsy it would probably break. I would highly recommend this!
I love the product and use the cap regularly. However, i'm in manufacturing and visit with injection molders everyday. $50 for this part feels like being taken advantage of. I understand the high costs of quality molds and how cost calculations occur. i'm sure the volume is low and therefore you need higher prices to get your return BUT ... still feels like being taken for a ride.
