About FluidStance · Santa Barbara, CA
Standing beats sitting. Moving beats standing. Since 2015 we've built balance boards and standing desk gear that keep work athletes in motion, made by a family-run team in Santa Barbara, California.
Find your fluidity
There's a push and pull between mind and body, work and play, responsibility and freedom. FluidStance lives in the space between them. That's where we make workspaces flow, and where we found our way to Do Epic Good.
Gear matters
Work shouldn't feel divided from play. It's a rhythm, where movement fuels creativity and intention drives impact.
By rethinking how we use our spaces, we connect the physical with the mindful. It's not just about work. It's about finding flow in everything we do, and using that energy to Do Epic Good.

Beyond products
We're more than a product story. Doing epic good is why we make what we make. It shapes how we source materials and how we treat our customers, our people and the planet.
We put local production first to shrink our carbon footprint. Overseas products travel around 6,000 miles before they ever ship to a customer. Most of ours are built and shipped right here in California.

1%
Before we made our first product, we committed 1% of our company's equity and profit to First Descents, which gives young adults surviving life-threatening illness the chance to go on outdoor adventures.
In partnership with First Descents
The ability to move is a basic right, and nothing challenges it more than surviving a life-threatening disease. With every order, our customers help send more young adults on a First Descents adventure. That promise has held since the first board we sold on January 12th, 2015.

Why we do it
Our founder, Joel Heath, has spent his life blurring the line between work and play while doing epic good. Today the whole FluidStance team carries that torch from our manufacturing facility in Santa Barbara, building gear meant to make an impact bigger than ourselves.
