The balance board itself is designed with ergonomics in mind. It's not a high-intensity, sport-style balance board—this one is meant to support your movement while working. I’d call it the 'Dan Miller' of balance boards: dependable, grounded, and well-designed for real-life use.The UpMat adds great grip, depending on your shoes or socks. That beautiful wood board can be a little slippery at times, so if you're like me and prefer something with a bit of extra traction and cushioning, I definitely recommend adding the UpMat. I purchased it myself and have no regrets.
I’ve already used the Level, and absolutely love it. I can see why the mat is necessary to avoid damaging the floor. Sometimes I need to be careful because the level might gradually slide to the edge but it’s good because you can slide it back to the center while standing.
Like many corporate workers, my role went remote in March of 2020 due to COVID-19. As if that wasn't stressful enough, a little over a month later, I endured something extremely traumatic, sparking a years-long struggle with fatigue. (Lucky me.) Between insomnia, fitful sleep, and high cortisol levels from the stress of it all, to say I've been exhausted would be an understatement. When it *is* time for bed, I often struggle to fall or stay asleep, which only perpetuates my tiredness. Rinse and repeat.The silver lining is: I'm home! I can sleep up until 15 minutes or so before my work day begins and sneak in a nap during my lunch hour—which has become a near-daily part of my routine.Cut to about a month ago… My boss announces that we will soon be returning to the office four days per week. My first thought was that I hoped our team would remain intact. My second thought was: How am I gonna nap?!There have been occasions here and there where I’ve gone into the office since remote life, and I won’t lie—the morning commute and inability to sleep at lunch really took a toll on me. My eyes would get heavy as I sat (or stood) at my desk, fighting off the afternoon slump. At home, I've found that rocking and swaying in my seat helps me stay alert. But, for obvious reasons, I'd like to avoid looking like a lunatic while surrounded by concerned coworkers.That’s why I decided to try a balance board.I did a ton of research into different brands and ultimately chose Fluidstance for three reasons:1. 360° motion, rather than only front to back or side to side. 2. Durable, high quality materials.3. It’s beautiful! What can I say? I like pretty things.Although I’m not yet back in the office, I’ve been training myself for the upcoming readjustment by skipping my midday naps and switching back and forth between sitting and balancing on my Fluidstance board throughout the day. Do I still get tired? Sure, fatigue still rears its head here and there. But there is a noteworthy difference for me in working through those bouts on the board versus simply standing or sitting at my desk. This has been a game changer in terms of minimizing fatigue from standing all day (10+ hours). I used to use a soft mat which was fine for short periods of time, but after a while my joints would start to ache from not moving. The Level Balance Board requires you to make small movements to remain in balance which makes a big difference throughout the day. I could really tell a difference in my lower back and energy levels at the end of the day. The only negative is it makes a ton of noise (squeaks and creaks from the wood on top). I weigh 185 pounds which is well within the weight limit and have tightened the four screws on the bottom as tight as they will go and it still makes a lot of noise.

The top deck, made of freshly stained and cut wood, is adjusting to the frame of the board. As it settles, the creaking typically subsides.For reference, I have added photos to this review to help maintain your Level Balance Board.In addition to the document, here is a written-out successful process to stop the creaking. *Loosen the 4 screws, recenter the board, and retighten. The wrench needed is a T15 Torx wrench*In some climates, the area where the wood and metal meet, will benefit from a simple lubricant spray a couple of times a year to eliminate any creaking. This will not need to be done very often, if ever, but simply spray a natural wood polish around the perimeter of the bottom of the wood only where the metal and wood meet. We recommend a natural polish like Bee’s Wax. Wipe-off any excessive polish, especially on top surface.NOTE: DO NOT use polish on the top of the wood to maintain the necessary traction. My balance board was a gift which has absolutely elevated my remote working set-up. I use it daily and love that I can do squats and back twists while working. I only wish there was an anti-fatigue mat for the top of the board as I work bare-footed at home, and can't use the board for as long as I would like throughout the day.

It's a really high end looking balance board. Looks nice in my office. Problem is, it's just too easy. It barely wobbles so I don't feel like I'm training my balance at all. Also it's quite harsh to stand on because the wood is so hard and and it has a metal bottom-- my feet always hurt after standing on it. So I sadly cannot recommend it.

I really enjoy using the Level balance board. I typically use it about 3 or 4 times a day at work. We have several buildings on our campus and I always walk over 10,000 steps a day. This is just another tool to keep me from sitting for extended periods. I really like the mat cover so that I feel more comfortable using it wearing socks at home.
This board is so beautiful crafted & designed— I’m so stoked I went with the limited edition Slot Level! I also added the Challenge Cap & oh boy is it fun & challenging which I absolutely love! Seriously well done & huge kudos to all involved w/this Slot Level project!
I own a few balance boards, and have used numerous others.What I find particularly great about the Level is the width. I'm 190cm tall and therefore have a wide stance, and the Level easily accommodates this. Therefore, the board will cover the needs of most people, short and tall.The height/wobble is also just right giving good movement without it being unstable or distracting while working. The wider width/stance also helps with the stability. This makes for very comfortable use.As for the quality, I can't see anyway that this could ever break or be damaged, other than some expected light long term wear and tear of the top deck.The machined aluminium frame is gorgeous, and the whole board deserves to be on display in my room when not in use.I also own the Plane Cloud board which I use at work, and despite not being aluminium, it's also a great purchase.
The Level has become my favorite way to stand at my desk while I work. I have made the switch to full-time standing while I work at my desk. Wearing just socks my feet feel like they need some cushion, so I'm ordering the Upmat to put on it too.
Simply amazing. You get what you pay for. You get a high quality product and an excellent customer service. I got lots of compliments at work and is simply just cool! I got the deal with the UpMat and Challenge Cap, both are totally worth it. I used the board for less than 2 minutes without the UpMat just to see the difference, once I put the mat, I didn’t go back. I literally use it about 70% of my work day. It is also helping me strengthen my foot after a broken bone that I had a little bit ago. Highly recommend this product.
I purchased this mainly to stay on top of maintaining balance as well as to help rehabilitate my injured foot. So far I'm doing great and as planned. This item is built with quality and functions exceptionally well.
I am retired, but use my board to improve balance and strengthen my core. It is not just for people who stand to work at a desk. The board itself is a beautiful piece of equipment, and that attracted me to it as well. I slacked off and didn’t use it for awhile, but I know I felt better when I used it. I’m trying to be disciplined about using it now. Dealing with the FluidStance company is amazing, too. They definitely give personal attention to their customers.

I can stand for longer periods of time without experiencing pain and feel much less tired. I’ve actually showed it to at least ten people at work. Had them stand on it and explain how it had benefited me. On weekends intake back home and use to stand while on the computer or watching movies. I actually watched an entire movie and forgot to sit down. Crazy I know :) in any case I’m really happy with my purchase. What I did do is put a small yoga mat on top to soften it. I ware Vivbobarefoot type shoes and feel everything beneath my feet. It unfortunately detracts from its good looks. I’ll consider your mat eventually.

It's a great product, beautiful and easy to use. My only caveat with the recommendation would b the cost. Worth it, but I understand the sticker shock. Maybe you could offer a coupon if a friend recommended one to someone?
I had been researching balance boards and other standing desk accessories for a while and I'm usually believer in trying something before I buy - especially when it's expensive. But I decided to take a change on the fluidstance board because it just seemed like the right solution and am so glad I did. It is really great to work on and I barely lower my desk to sitting now!

I love my level board with the foam top addition. I ordered the challenge cap as well and have tried it. But for a plastic peace that’s patented shouldn’t cost us $46 for it. That’s ridiculous:/ I wish i could just 3D print the challenge cap.

I've been using my Level for nearly 10 years and I've incorporated it well into my sit-stand routine at the office. I purchased a Fluidstance Level balance board [Phantom Black] and accessories. I really enjoy the 360 tilt. I have used another board for several years but it can only go side to side and not 360 tilt. Once I got on my balance board I could feel the complete difference and impact it had on my legs and ankles. One of the accessories did not work for me but their customer service was amazing and helped me through the return process. They are great to work with and could tell they are really engaged with their customers.
After just 30 minutes of using this fun toy, I made a post on FB saying I felt like a kid on Christmas. So that should say it all. Making work fun! At almost 50-years-old (shhhh), I feel fancy and youthful doing some of my side-to-side spin moves. I can’t sit for long periods and standing on hard floor all day was tiring. Standing on the board is easier on my feet and benefits balancing. I can work and even take a break and get in ab workout.
I bought this due to using and standing desk as I have a lot of sitting being a professional counselor but also need to stay loose as I also teach martial arts. I like that I can stand on it and it helps me focus when I have to move(adhd) and also let's me stretch and work balance and core while working at the desk. I basically use it anytime I'm standing at the desk for any deccent length of time. It works well on my desk chair mat fine but am interested in a floor board since it's on top of carpet. I also like the mat surface on the board as I usually use it in socks or barefoot. This let's me work tired feet but also helps with recovery of some ankle and shin issues. I expected it to be good but I am so glad I made the purchase.
Still trying to figure out best practices but feel my core engaged and glad i am not sitting slumped in a chair, knees can start to hurt from standing but ill figure out how to attenuate that

I’ve been using my FluidStance setup for a couple of weeks now and I’m genuinely impressed. I went with the Level Board in Natural Finish, the UPmat in Charcoal, and the Frost Base Mat. The whole setup feels super solid and well-designed. It’s been a great way to stay a bit more active during long days at the desk – definitely helps with posture and keeping energy levels up.Shoutout to Kristina P. from the support team – she was quick to respond and super helpful with some questions I had before ordering. Great service always makes a big difference.One bit of feedback though: I was pretty surprised by the international shipping cost to Switzerland – over $200 USD feels steep, especially considering the package arrived compact and well-packed. I’d definitely appreciate an option for slower, lower-cost shipping or – even better – a European distribution centre in the future. I’d still buy again, but that would make it a lot more accessible.All in all, really happy with the product and experience.
