Just wanted to drop a review of the original FluidStance Balance Board (Matte Black Edition) now that I’ve used it for a couple of weeks in my home office setup - which also happens to be my living room.Design & Aesthetic:This thing looks beautiful. The matte black finish is super sleek, and the design has this minimalist but premium feel to it. It doesn’t scream “fitness gear” or “gadget,” which I love because my home office is part of an open living space. It fits right in and even adds an elegant touch to the whole room. Honestly, it’s the kind of product that looks intentional when it’s just sitting in its holster - not like something you forgot to put away.Build Quality:Feels extremely high quality. The craftsmanship is on point - solid materials, smooth finish, no rough edges or wobbliness. You can tell it’s not some cheap plastic knock-off. It really delivers on that “premium” promise, both in aesthetics and tactile feel.During Work Use:Using it while working took a bit of getting used to. At first, constantly balancing felt odd, but after a few hours, it actually became fun. I’ve worked it into my routine now: rotating between sitting, standing, and balancing while standing. It keeps things dynamic and helps me avoid that all-day-sitting fatigue. Surprisingly energizing!Accessories: Base Mat + UPmat:I strongly recommend using the base mat if you have sensitive flooring (mine is vinyl). It’s lightweight, easy to position/remove, and keeps your floor safe from scratches. I also opted for the UPmat (goes on the board itself), and it’s been a great add-on - it makes longer standing/balancing sessions much more comfortable. Only downside: these accessories are pricey and add up in cost.Price Point:Let’s be real - this board isn’t cheap, including the accessories. It's definitely in the high-end range, and yes, there are more affordable alternatives. But: If you care about aesthetics and you're building a workspace that blends into your home, especially an open-concept one, the design alone justifies the investment. It doesn’t just work well, it looks amazing, especially when it's resting in the included holster. It adds to the decor rather than looking out of place.Overall Take:If you're working from home and want to stay more active without committing to something intense like a treadmill desk, this is a perfect middle ground. It adds just the right amount of movement, looks great doing it, and blends into a modern or aesthetically-focused home setup. Yes, it’s pricey, but for what it offers in design, build quality, and vibe, I think it’s worth it.
Having a standing desk can be draining if all you're doing is just staying upright working in front of a screen hours at a time. The Fluidstance Original balance board brings motion to the work desk and is superbly built with a fabulously elegant design. It keeps me active and engaged when I wasn't expecting much at the beginning. This is truly a gem for an active lifestyle accommodating the workspace. Worthy investment for your health and longevity. Certainly beats a visit to the chiropractor!

Keeps me active and focused!
I really love balance boards in general now but I especially love these!!. I got one for free with my standup desk but fliudstance is a superior product. I love it so much I no longer have a chair at my desk.
I am 46 years old with a techie desk job and as of January my weight had gotten up to 247 pounds- which is too many pounds. So I converted to a standing desk with a fluidstance board (and the challenge cap!) and aside from also taking a few short (<30min) walks a week my weight has come down to 230 pounds- no other changes. And it’s continuing to come down!
My back is prone to go out frequently when I spend too much time sitting. Standing hasn’t proved to be much better unless I’m dancing around at my desk all day, which makes it hard to work. My deck allows me to keep moving without disrupting my work, which keeps my muscles loose and prevents the crippling back spasms I suffer when I’m forced to be stationary all day. My coworkers are constantly asking me about it, and I give it my hand ghost recommendation. It may cost as much as a nice office chair, but it’s worth every cent, especially since it’s helped keep me out of my chiropractors office!
A significantly better balance board than anyone I have ever used. I cannot say enough about this board, and how much it has improved by work day in a short time.

Great product
I have had my new board for a couple weeks and it has been comfortable to spend a couple hours a day using. However, sometimes the wood deck starts creaking loudly enough that it bothers other people in the office. I also got the Challenge Cap. It does nicely increase the range of motion, but as you move you can feel the deformation around the two internal support rings. This prevents the motion from being as smooth as board itself.
I was given this as a gift. I liked the idea at first, but practically I don't feel ANY different using this than I do when I'm just standing. For over $300 I would NOT recommend this.

I've never been a fan of sitting at my desk, but the Original Balance Board has changed that for me. As someone who sits for too many hours a day behind a desk, has degenerative discs and arthritis in my neck as well as works out 5 times a week and strives to be fit, this is a must for my health journey. I can't tell you, or thank you enough for this game changer product. I stand more, strengthen my core, knees and calfs since using this product along with my standing desk. I've tried out half a dozen balance boards searching for one that worked for me that didn't break the bank. The FluidStance Original was always just a little out of my price range but after multiple, unsuccessful attempts to really enjoy a board I caved and bought one. I'm a big guy, about 255 lbs and 6' 2", and I've worked from home for the better part of 18 years. In that time I've tried out so many different devices and furniture to keep my body as healthy and upright as possible. The FluidStance Original is a GAME CHANGER! Wow!! The ability to rotate 360 degrees is amazing. The fact that it's all one piece is amazing too. I also love the fact that when my legs or feet get tired I can always just lean to one side and take a break from balancing (and balancing is no problem whatsoever on this amazing tool!). In other words I don't have to completely get off the board and stick it to the side. Super flexible! The name of the company truly matches the way this board feels… FLUID! It is by far the most amazing balance board I have ever used and I can't believe I waited so long to pick one up. Last thing I'll say. IT IS BEAUTIFUL! It's the coolest looking thing in my office. Kudos to the FluidStance team for such a game changing device!

I work at a standing desk, which is good, but sooo boring. I was getting too fidgety. I knew there had to be a product out there that could help. After much research, I decided to give FluidStance boards a go, and it is everything the company says it is and more. The constant motion gives my body what it needs and allows me to focus better. The Fluidstance Original balance board, mat, and challenge cap are well worth the expense! My hubs works from home and has a standing desk. Our floors are carpeted so a walking treadmill isn’t an option but this is where the genius of the Original balance board saves the day! He uses the board on the carpet and is working his way up to balancing on the board with the mat - and, he LOVES IT! Balancing on the board helps improve his posture, focus, and relieves the low back fatigue from sitting and static standing. Plus, the board and mat are well-designed and frankly super cool!
